What this site is and is not
Payday Loans Scarborough is a publisher. It explains how short term loans work in Scarborough under Ontario law and, through the apply link, connects you to a separate application platform used by licensed Canadian lenders. The site does not lend money, does not make credit decisions, does not hold a payday lender licence because it does not need one, and does not collect your application details. Nothing on the site is financial, legal or tax advice for your situation.
Accuracy and updates
We work from the Payday Loans Act, 2008, the federal Criminal Interest Rate Regulations and regulator guidance, and we check figures when something changes. The "last updated" date at the top of each page tells you when it was last reviewed. Rules change, lenders change their products, and a page can lag. If a figure here and a figure on a lender's disclosure box disagree, the disclosure box is what you are signing, and if it exceeds $14 per $100 on a payday loan in Ontario, do not sign it.
The referral relationship
When you click apply you leave this site. If a loan funds, the lender pays us a referral fee. That fee is between the lender and us; it does not change your rate, fee or repayment, and it is never charged to you. We do not receive your application, your banking details or your credit information. The about page describes this arrangement in plain words and the privacy page covers what the link carries.
Your loan agreement is with the lender
Any loan you take is a contract between you and the licensed lender named on the agreement, governed by that agreement and by Ontario law. Cancellation rights, repayment terms, fees, collections and complaints all run under that contract and the Payday Loans Act, 2008, not under these terms. Questions about a loan you hold go to the lender; complaints about a lender's conduct go to Consumer Protection Ontario.
Acceptable use
You may read, link to and quote short passages from this site with attribution. You may not copy pages wholesale, scrape the site, present its content as your own, or use it to send unsolicited messages to anyone. The site is intended for adults in Canada; the age of majority in Ontario is 18.
Limits on liability
The site is provided as it is. We do our best to keep it accurate, and we accept no liability for decisions you make on the basis of it, for the conduct of any lender, or for the availability of the application platform. Where the law does not allow a limit like this, the limit does not apply.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms when the site or the law changes, and the date at the top moves when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. Questions about them can go to the address on the contact page.
